BZFlag Deathmatch
From BarcampBangalore
Talks are boring. We've got a room full of twitchy fingers. We ought to use them for what they do best, twitching!

[edit] Description
BZFlag is a rather nice open source game. The gameplay may be goofy, but it sure beats having to listen to a boring speaker. You can even do it without being impolite and leaving the room: just put on your headphones or mute the volume and join the server. BZFlag's radar view makes it perfectly playable without sound. When the copper types aren't paying attention, we can even whip out our pirated copies of Quake III and have a real deathmatch.
[edit] Resource Materials
- Wireless hub that can take at least 10 simultaneous connections doing rapid data exchange (the cheaper ones don't), and maybe a few wired ports for the unfortunates with crippled laptops. This hub should not be connected to any other network, to prevent interfering with other activities.
- One computer running a dedicated server. Can be a laptop, but owner must not be in the habit of closing it when walking around.
