applications and also bloggers to take this data forward.
Do visit the blog to get a glimpse of the election watch reports for Karnataka.
Please feel free to add to this discussion list on items that may be of relevance to get the best of this topic. We would be
glad not to confine this talk just to the activities of ADR and Election Watches but also other possible interventions to
make democracy better.

- What is Indian English?
Shivku, blog.shivku.com
The planet is getting smaller with internet and all those fast flying aeroplanes. And then, It is getting harder to identify our language with fellow speakers from the UK, US, Australia etc. Some of what we speak is influenced by the fact that the British were here (Neighbourhood with a "u") and some due to our obsession with Hollywood and technology (Elevator vs lift, Program vs Programme). But more importantly, much is special and unique to the English that we speak here (Prepone, gyan, "We are like that only", "Why because..."). The idea is to define, identify, document and popularize "Indian English".

- Personal Photography: Soul Searching
Mahesh Shantaram, Independent Photographer
Photography courses are dousing nascent talent with an overdose of technical crap and rigid rules. This is a crisis, as I see it. Plenty of us are scouring the pages of flickr in search of inspiration. It's time to look elsewhere. This session is for anyone who has even a fleeting interest in photography. It's going be purely inspirational, driven by a careful selection of audio-visual tools that will fire all the right neurons.

I'm bringing my archives along to show and tell.
- How to Stitch that Fantastic Panorama
Shree Kumar, [gmail] shree DOT shree, www.shreekumar.in
Free tools are available (Hugin most prominently) to easily stitch panoramas from digital camera images. The process to shoot them is simple too. However, these not as well known as they should be. This hands on session will show how easy it is to shoot panoramas. The true beauty of panoramas is revealed after they are printed. So I'll also throw some light on how to go about printing panoramas. Given time & interest, I may try to tackle some difficult aspects - e.g. shooting HDR images and HDR panoramas.
