- How To Get The Best Out Of Engineering College Projects
Every student studying engineering in India works on a project during her final year and there are over a lakh such projects come out each year. Borrowing from Technorati's earlier tag line, at least some of these projects have to be good. During the talk(if it happens, that is!), I would like to share, discuss and gather ideas on how to identify such projects, help students with resources, mentoring and bring out a 'good enough' product, service or a technology. An example of 'good enough' would be a billing software that students from an engineering college in Dharwad would work on and we help them sell it to five kirana stores in that city.
Also, would it make sense to have a summer program where projects are selected from the colleges which are not in the top 50 and given access to resources and mentors? At the end of this program, there will be a few good (not good enough!) products, services or a technologies and these are then taken to the next level.
