This session is an attempt to rekindle the forgotten art of losing ourselves in stories! …and briefly explore the key challenges (and possible solutions) involved in retaining the sense of awe and wonder while sharing stories online in different formats.

Set aside your programming skills (for a while) and come with a fresh mind to explore the design challenges involved in making the digital world a better place for stories!

Teaser:
The Vijayanagara Empire is often credited to have been one of the richest empires in the world at it’s peak. Many stories and myths have evolved to explain their astonishing rise to power and their eventual downfall…. What are those stories and why should we care?

What will you take away from the session?:
(Hopefully…) a bunch of interesting ideas for you to build some cool apps/solutions to facilitate better storytelling… in both digital and analog worlds.

Facebook Virality: 250,000 Fans in 10 Days

While the word ‘viral’ has been thrown around to describe anything obtuse or controversial, very few brands (or agencies) truly understand its potential on the social web.

The session will concentrate on how you can tap into the inherent virality of Facebook to make your campaign communication go viral. We will also touch upon the appropriate techniques of Game Mechanics which can help virality. We did this for Air France and helped them add 250,000 fans in just 10 days.

Mobile applications for Indians

In this session I would like to discuss the various possible mobile applications that can be developed for the benifit of Indians.

The use of mobile phone in India especially the highend ones powered with S60, Windows mobile, Linux with excellent features like 5+Mp cameras, support of almost every media type, GPS and location basesd features memories as huge as 16 to 32GB is increasing very rapidly.

There are a variety of apps that can be developed to suit the Indian market. few examples would be :
- Daily astrology updates based on Indian astrology.
- Indian calenders. If you guys are not aware there are a number of varieties of Indian calenders which differ from state to state, region to region and language to language.
- Apps to remotely switch off and switch on agricultural pumps (This would also add to the environmental cause)
- Language translaters.
- GPS based plotting of agricultural lands.
- And many more ideas from you guys.

We can also discuss the feasibility of the development, unidentified use cases and the commercial viability of such apps In the Indian market.

We can also discuss on the failure of iPhone in India. (People have to accept this)
Apart from cost factor, what are the features or apps it lacks, because of which it could not attract Indian markey.

Cloud Computing and Android Apps for the Indian Masses

This session will elaborate the current status of cloud computing and apps based on Google Android platform. It will discuss how these technologies will enable the micro-IT revolution in India. The second part of the session will be discussion oriented and we will come out with specific enhancements to Android that will be useful for India masses. We will also brainstorm on how industry and academics can work together to speed up this revolution in India.
